Based on the feedback from academic staff and the Academic Committee has decided that, in order for students of Diploma in Business Studies to be able to absorb the knowledge in MKT302 (International Marketing), MKT303 (Entrepreneurship) and MKT304 (International Business), there is a need to impose pre-requisite subjects to ensure that the required prior knowledge in key areas of business studies is acquired before students attempt these 3 capstone subjects at senior level.

Hence from the cohort of Spring 2009 onwards, students in Diploma in Business Studies programme will need to adhere to the following pre-requisites for the 3 subjects mentioned above:

  SubjectPre-requisites
 1.MKT302 (International Marketing)
 a. MKT202 (Consumer Behaviour)
 b. ACT101 (Financial Accounting)
 c. MGT202 (Operations Management)
 2. MKT303 (Entrepreneurship)
 a. MKT202 (Consumer Behaviour)
 b. ACT101 (Financial Accounting)
 c. MGT102 (Organisational Behaviour)
 3 MGT304 (International Business)
 a. MKT202 (Consumer Behaviour)
 b. ACT101 (Financial Accounting)
 c. MGT102 (Organisational Behaviour)

Students who are from cohorts earlier than Spring 2009 will be well advised to adhere to the pre-requisites requirement above to ensure that they achieve the required academic performance. Those students (from these earlier cohorts) who wish to take the 3 subjects above but have not completed the pre-requisites will need to consult Puan Shariza to seek her advice & support before Academic Administration Office will allow them to register for any of the said subjects above. Students from Spring 2009 cohort onwards MUST adhere strictly to the pre-requisites requirement.
